I was fortunate enough to attend a 675 hour massage therapy program at the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga under the guidance of Shala Worsely.  We learned many different modalities and techniques, hence my massage is called integrative.  Integrative is often considered the “melting pot” of therapeutic massage. The sessions tend to be intuitively guided integrating swedish, deep tissue, sports, trigger point, shiatsu and many others.  I work to connect with each individual client to find a massage that will meet their needs. That could mean deep intentional strokes to identify and unwind holding patterns in the body.  It could also mean a hybrid of Eastern and Western techniques, combined with light energy work to peel back layers of tension and effectively change the relationship of tissue, muscle, tendon and ligament. Or it could mean a relaxing full body Swedish massage, using a blend of long flowing strokes and focused techniques to relieve tired muscles, reduce stress, and improve circulation.
